Tidbits
Bill Watterson is probably the most seclusive of all comic strip writters. The more popular his strip became, the harder it was to find out about him. The following tidbits have been accumulated from a number of sources, and I will update them with more information as soon as I can.
- Born July 5, 1958 in Washinton, DC.
- Moved to Chagrin Falls, Ohio at age six.
- Has a younger brother.
- Graduated from Kenyon College in 1980 with a political science degree.
- Favorite comic strips: Peanuts, Krazy Kat, Pogo
- Lives in New Mexico with wife Melissa.
- Has no children, only cats.
- Father was a patent attourney. (Like Calvin's dad.)
- Worked for six months after college drawing political cartoons for the Cincinnati Post.
- Does not belong to the Nactional Cartoonists Society (NCS).
- Won the Reuben (top award of the NCS) in 1986 and 1988.
